The 6th Senegal International Mining Conference & Exhibition is set to take place in Dakar this November. The opening ceremony will feature a keynote speech from His Excellency, Honourable Mr. Macky SALL, the country’s President.
The two-day conference will focus on the theme “Promotion and development of Local Content, a lever for the optimization of socio-economic benefits in the extractive sector”, including dedicated sessions of debate. The first day of SIM Senegal 2021 will bring together expert speakers that will discuss the Sub-regional, regional, and international visions and strategies on the local content, and the business opportunities for local suppliers to access in the extractive sector.
The second day of SIM Senegal 2021 is addressed to the competitiveness of SMEs and territorial development; Environmental, social and governance considerations for investment and growth in the mining sector; gold mining challenges and opportunities; sustainable development objectives; efficient energy planning as a response to future demand for electricity from mining operations; governance and access to information and much more.
SIM Senegal 2021 will also promote, in Dakar, an open day of meetings, information on local content and the promotion of employment and entrepreneurship between government stakeholders and the private and community sector, B2B meetings, plus product demonstrations to be provided by exhibitors.
The face-to-face edition of SIM Senegal Conference & Exhibition is back to Dakar, Senegal, allowing the participants to network in person. Nevertheless, virtual attendees can also join the event though the Event App, to attend to all sessions and presentations, and to virtually interact with the other participants.
